Healthy Tips to Healthy Eating When You Travel with Your Child!

Travelling is a kind of stress for a child, so it is better to stick with familiar food.

Make sure you have good cooler, ice packs and a good thermos for hot drinks.

Instead of a high-calorie snack (e.g. chips), bring food from home. Here are some ideas for real food to take on your trip:

  • fruits and vegetable,
  • cheese,
  • whole grain crackers,
  • hard boiled eggs,
  • a muesli bar,
  • yoghurt drink,
  • dehydrated fruit snacks,
  • nuts.

Avoid junk food – it can leave you feeling fatigued, and give you a stomach ache.

Avoid messy foods. Bring the foods that can be eaten with hands.

If you have a treat, keep it small – your child may not be able to stop and it will lead to hyperactivity.

Bring plenty of water – it will keep you hydrated. Avoid sodas – they are rich in empty calories and cause stomach pain.

Don’t make the food the only fun part of your journey. Play with your child!

If it is possible, stop for a picnic. It will allow your child to stretch and get some fresh air.

Don’t forget to take enough moistened wipes to keep your child’s hands clean and sanitized.

Have a wonderful and healthy trip!
