Foods that Promote Healthy Sleep

A cup of hot Chamomile tea is a good way to relax the body and mind. Chamomile has mild sedatives that calm and soothe down feelings of anxiety.

Hot milk contains tryptophan  a natural sleep aid, and calcium that helps tryptophan to be absorbed.Healthy sleep

Honey is rich in glucose that reduces anxiety.

Bananas are rich in magnesium that helps our muscles to relax.

Almonds are also high in tryptophan and magnesium. So, it is a good snack that promotes healthy sleep.

Oatmeal is rich in melatonine – a natural hormone that controls our biological clock.

Turkey is another food that promotes healthy sleep as it is contains tryptophan. However, don’t eat too much turkey before going to bed! Tryptophan works better if you are a bit hungry.

Wheat bread triggers insulin release. In the result, tryptophan is converted into serotonin and melatonin.

Linseed contains a high level of omega-3 fatty acids that are responsible for mood regulation. Go to sleep smiling!
